Forming Rammed Earth Wall D

Welcome to the latest update on building our rammed earth house on the west coast of Vancouver Island.  We are currently forming Wall D with intention to ram it soon.

The form ply is beginning to get seasoned from repeated use.  Wall D is 33' 6-1/2" long, it has two window knockouts and will weigh in at 20,320 kg based on the volume of earth required.

We have been planning for late October weather on Vancouver Island....it's not if its going to rain, but when its going to rain.
Wall B as it joins with Wall D.  Water in the wall B reacts with cement and evaporates causing it to get lighter in color.

Wall B again with integral roof drain shown.
Thanks again for checking in.  The Cabin in the Woods is taking shape as the rammed earth walls are erected.  Please feel free to share this blog site and leave a comment, I will get back to you ASAP.
